My JavaScript Scrapbook

This page acts as a Web Development Portfolio, using a collection of projects and experiments I've created over the last few years.

My main drive is creating unique interactive experiences, Game Development being the common goal of most of my personal experiments.

I have experience building applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and PHP to query MySQL Databases.

Many of these examples are unfinished projects and some may be stripped of certain features.

ACID MARKETING

Acid Marketing is a commercial website I created solo from start to finish during my time as a developer at Gravitichain. This website is fully responsive on all devices, accessibility compliant and compatible with browsers as old as Internet Explorer 9.

CSSiro

CSSiro is a Japanese Language learning application I created when toying with CSS transition effects.
Audio features are disabled in this build due to upload restrictions.

PIXEL PORTFOLIO

Jerky's Pixel Parlor is a site I created as a pixel art portfolio. The image display area features a zoom function which is built to accommodate pixel art by only applying anti-aliasing when the zoom is not a multiple.

GAME BOY PROJECT

My most recent project. This is a Game Boy styled game in its early alpha stage. I began working on it as a way to test post-processing effects and shaders at a small scale as to side-step any performance issues.

RPG PROJECT

My previous game development project. This was an attempt to create an RPG with a procedurally generated world made of dozens of islands. The engine features a shop, diaglogue, cutscenes, battle scenes, map transitions and a functioning menu and inventory system. The scope of the project became to great so I abandoned it to work on something simpler.

SPACEMAN

This little site was an experiment with using a sprite sheet to animate a character onscreen rather than attempt to load in individual images.

SHEEP GAME

This little demo was built to see how far I could stretch the capabilities of CSS in creating graphics in a web page. The Fox and Sheep characters are created using nothing but HTML elements, heavily styled and animated using CSS.

VG MYSTERIES

A 'meme generator' I cooked up in an evening to help my friends create fake video game trivia images.

CYBER CAFE

This page links to two website designs I had been commissioned to do for a cyber cafe. Includes a Desktop and Mobile version of the site.

BEAUTY WEBSITE

A prototype of a website commissioned by Latino Makeup & Beauty Show. Working closely to a specified colour scheme and style.

SPENDGATE

A dummy version of a live application I created for myself to track my spending. The full version was a simple PHP script which would deduct a number from a live database which would update itself weekly and monthly.

KOTOBA

A proof of concept for a language learning platform I wanted to create where users would essentially make reminders for themselves and post them publicly.

3D ROOM

A highly experimental stretch of CSS's ability to create faux 3D effects. This only seems to work on specific browsers on specific machines. Chrome is recommended but it may not work at all for you.
